FIELD GUIDE / 01

Find your next
good step.

A practical guide to the current Veasel Code build: set it up, understand what it sends, choose a provider, and follow the work that is still ahead.

Run it from source

git clone https://github.com/veasel-labs/veasel
cd veasel
v run . serve

Use the V compiler revision pinned in .v-version, plus SQLite development files. Configure VEASEL_MODEL_PROVIDER,VEASEL_MODEL, and the matching provider API key to enable chat. The server listens on 127.0.0.1:4097 by default.

Try the terminal client

v run . tui

Start the server in one terminal, then launch this command in another. The OpenTUI client lists sessions and sends chat turns to the local loopback API. Bun is required for this command.

Current boundary Provider chat works synchronously. Streaming, repository edits, and shell tools are not available yet. Follow the implementation plan in the source repository for verified progress.
